Welcome to 4th Grade ELA and Social Studies
Fourth grade is a very exciting time to build your confidence and become the strongest learner that you have ever been. This is your year to shine bright and create a foundation of learning that will boost you into the 5th grade.
This year, our Walter Hill School theme is "Keeping the Magic." Our 4th grade theme is Star Wars, "May the fourth grade be with you!"
We practice humanity and taking initiative at our school and in our classroom. Thank you for caring and taking pride in WHS! Each and every student is important every day.
Walter Hill is truly the most magical school in Rutherford County! I am so happy and joyful that you are here!

A few little tidbits about me:
- This is my 23rd year in education.
- I have an ELA, Math, and ELL teaching foundation. I have been in Rutherford County schools since 2013. I taught at Oakland Middle and Blackman Middle before coming to WHS in 2023.
- My education: UT @ Knoxville B.S. 1993, Belmont M.Ed. 2000, and Trevecca ELL Endorsement 2020
- My children: Max, age 23 is a U.S Marine Sergeant; Wesley, age 22 lives and works in Nashville; Gracie, age 20 is a Junior at MTSU.
- My hobbies are spending time with family and friends, taking care of my dogs and chickens, camping, hiking, biking and being in any type of water.
